Oct. 5th (Thurs.): Drive to downtown Albany for Capital Historical Walk. This walk follows city sidewalks past historic buildings/monuments/museums: Capitol Building, Empire State Plaza, Executive Mansion, restored city homes, & pedestrian bridge to Hudson River. In the afternoon, participate in the Clifton Park Walk. Trail on local streets & sidewalks through neighborhoods & short unpaved woods trail. Return to our hotel.
Oct. 6th (Fri.): Drive to Williamstown, Massachusetts Walk. This walk passes through the Williams College campus, Williamstown Theatre, Williams College Art Museum,
the Clark Art Institute and the picturesque Village of Williamstown. In the afternoon, drive a short distance to Bennington, Vermont for another great walk. Between
two mountain ranges (Taconics to the West and Green Mountains to the East) Bennington is one of Vermont's oldest & most historic towns and trail is on city sidewalks. Return to hotel.
Oct. 7th (Sat.): Drive to Woodstock, Vermont to participate in a very picturesque town and National Park walk. The 5KM trail passes historic village & Billings Farm Museum at less elevation. A couple of walks to choose from for the 10KM walk. Drive to Montpelier, Vermont for hotel accommodations for 2 nights at the Comfort Inn & Suites (802) 229-2222 Continental Breakfast included.

Oct. 8th (Sun.): Drive to Stowe, Vermont for another picturesque town and country walk.
It has been said that Stowe is "a little bit of Austria in Vermont." Walk is along a stream, on Stowe recreational path, through wooded area; spectacular view Mt. Mansfield, VT's highest peak. In the afternoon, put our “tourist hat” on and visit Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Return to our hotel.
Oct. 9th (Mon.): Depart our hotel and participate in the Montpelier Capital Walk. All routes pass
many homes & businesses with interesting architectural styles. The 10k and the 5k
Capital routes include the State House, interesting architecture, National Register Historical Properties. In the afternoon, drive a short distance to Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks
to see how maple syrup is made. Continue to Concord, New Hampshire where we will stay at the Start/Finish, Holiday Inn, (603) 224-9534 No Breakfast included.
Oct. 10th (Tues.): Participate in the Concord Capital Walk at your convenience. The Trail includes the State Capitol, historic downtown Concord & President Franklin Pierce manse & grave site. In the afternoon, drive to Portsmouth, New Hampshire and our hotel, which is the Start/Finish for the Portsmouth walk for three nights (603) 436-7600. Full Breakfast included.
Will determine if we can check into the hotel before we do the walk. This Event highlights long history of Portsmouth, first settled as "Strawbery Banke' in 1630, & its role in War for Independence, Civil War, & its current role as one of New Hampshire's few seaports.
Oct. 11th (Wed.): Drive to Augusta, Maine to participate in a 5KM Capital Walk. This event Passes State Capitol, historic fort on river front & part of arboretum. On our return, stop at LL Bean for a short shopping spree! Continue our drive to Kennebunk for another great walk! This event walk passes by St. Anthony’s Monastery, a stretch of Gooch's Beach & to Dock Square. Return to hotel.
Oct. 12th (Thurs.): Drive to Salem, Massachusetts for a “bewitching” walk. Historic Salem is noted
for 1692 Witchcraft hysteria, its maritime tradition & architectural splendor of
its McIntire Era Federal homes. Salem frigates opened Far East trade & provided
wealth which produced America's first millionaires. Trail passes Derby Wharf Lighthouse & Maritime Nat'l Historic Site & Nathaniel Hawthorne's House of Seven Gables.
In the afternoon, drive a short distance to Gloucester for another great walk! Oldest seaport, still an authentic working waterfront community. Many museums, scenic vistas, shops & restaurants along route. Return to hotel.
Oct. 13th (Fri.): Drive to Boston, Massachusetts for this historic Capital walk. (We will be
spending all day in this great city!) You can do one or two walks! (Head Tater pays
for just one walk!) Boston Freedom Trail Walk is on downtown city streets &
walkways, passing the State Capitol and exploring a plethora of historic sites, monuments, museums and landmarks; one short, steep hill. Boston, known as America’s Walking City, is rich in history & tradition. (The other possible Walk is the Back Bay walk.) Late in
the day, we will drive outside of Boston, Brockton, for hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express (508) 588-6300 Continental Breakfast included.
Oct. 14th (Sat.): Drive to Newport, Rhode Island for this great walk. Route explores Newport’s
374 years as a seafaring community & includes harbor area with many yachts; waterfront shopping district; Victorian architecture; historic sites; and renovated
portion of famous Cliff Walk with magnificent ocean vistas.
In the afternoon drive to Providence for Capital Walk. Two 5km loops. Paved, somewhat hilly route features restored historic homes, impressive State House, Brown University, revitalized downtown including a river walk & mall with many fine restaurants.
Drive a short distance for our hotel for 2 nights at our last hotel of the trip, Hampton Inn & Suites (401) 739-8888 located in Warwick, Rhode Island, near the T.F. Green Airport Continental Breakfast and free airport shuttle. (WE ARE FLYING OUT OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND!)

Oct. 15th (Sun.): Enjoy our last day driving to Hartford, Connecticut for Capital walk.
Downtown/Riverfront walk includes Old State House (designed by Charles Bullfinch, in 1796), the gothic revival state capitol, plus Wadsworth Atheneum (one of oldest art museums in country). Two bridges over the CT River. The U.S.S. Hartford bell is located on Constitution Plaza. Return to hotel in Warwick!
